This is the last one from December. Lavagna took office as Economy Minister at the lowest point of the crisis year of 2002 and bring the economy to a fast recovery. Nothing miraculous; just a bit of Neokeynesian common sense when soybean exports were booming. He discarded the IMF recipes and keep some of the cash flow to invest launching a virtuous circle of reactivation.
Despite his Peronist origins, his mild manners seems to be seductive to a wide range of the anti-populist Opposition. In another country he would be a good candidate but here and now he can only be the candidate of the conservative rightist, regrettably.

Este es el último de diciembre. Lavagna llegó al Ministerio de Economía en el punto más bajo de la crisis de 2002 y llevó a una rápida recuperación. Nada milagroso; apenas un poco de sentido común neokeynesiano cuando explotaban las exportaciones de soja. Desechó las recetas de FMI y retuvo algo de flujo de dinero para invertir, lanzando un círculo virtuoso de reactivación.
A pesar de sus orígenes peronistas, sus maneras moderadas parecen seductoras para un amplio sector de opositores anti populistas. En otro país sería un buen candidato pero aquí y ahora sólo puede ser el candidato de los conservadores derechistas, lamentablemente.
