I didn’t read each one of the thousands of opinions written on this issue. As I said I think the cover failed its target because of a rhetoric error and Mother Jones got the right answer: “The current cover doesn’t satirize the attacks on the Obamas so much as it merely combines them, and the real target of the supposed satire (Fox News?) is left unspoken. But here’s how it could have worked: the exact same drawing, except with John and Cindy McCain in place of the Obamas.”
So, I tried my hand at the task. Unlike many hysterical responses, I’m not attacking Barry Blitt for his error. Just experiencing how the cover could be with a wiser approach.

No leí cada una de las miles de opiniones escritas sobre este asunto. Como dije, creo que la tapa erró el blanco por un defecto de retórica y Mother Jones da la respuesta correcta: “Esta tapa no satiriza los ataques a Obama tanto como simplemente los combina, y el blanco real de la supuesta sátira (¿Fox News?) queda sin ser mencionado. Pero he aquí cómo pudo haber funcionado: exactamente el mismo dibujo, excepto con John y Cindy McCain en lugar de los Obamas.”
De modo que ensayé mi mano en la tarea. A diferencia de muchas respuestas histéricas, no estoy atacando a Barry Blitt por su error. Sólo experimentando cómo podría haber sido la tapa con una aproximación más astuta.
